The Philly Freedom Coalition is a group of organizations and individuals focused on legislation, education, and litigation that supports the removal of COVID mandates and the "emergency powers" that made them possible, as well as other health issues.   Learn more about the various issues from our member groups listed below.

Join PA.ChildrensHealthDefense, PCIC, & HealthFreedomPa to stay informed on legislative matters.

In order to be heard by our various governmental boards we need to speak up…on a regular basis. We can just complain; we also need to educate.  Public comments are generally made available to the public through live video and audio, and written comments are sometimes made available online.  So, you are not only educating your government representatives, you’re also educating the public. And you can also forge relationships with other attendees, the news media, and local radio talk shows.  Holding our own group meetings is important, and meeting at bars is fun. But we also need to take our issues to the people who can do something about them.

ATTEND LOCAL CIVIC MEETINGS!  STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT!  We need you there!

Plan Your Visit - Philadelphia City Council

PHILADELPHIA CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS: Thursdays 10 am, CITY HALL, ROOM 400 - https://phila.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx  City Council only allows public comments on legislation before the council, legislation which requires City Council approval, thereby effectively censoring the free speech rights of the public. However, many people ignore that “rule” and say whatever they want anyway. See: https://phila.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx

PHILADELPHIA SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS: Usually once a month on Thursday 4-7 PM, 440 N. Broad Street, https://www.philasd.org/schoolboard To register to speak, send your request on the Monday (after 4 PM) before the Thursday meetings.  https://www.philasd.org/schoolboard/speaker-request-form The District calls their school board meetings, “Action Meetings”.  In some months there are also public hearings and policy committee meetings. Scroll down to find calendar. How to register to speak or submit written testimony. Speaker registration opens at 4 PM the Monday before the meeting.  Written testimony must be submitted 24 hours before the meeting. Hand deliver or email schoolboard@philasd.org. If you are a speaker, you should submit a print copy of your spoken testimony to the clerk after you have spoken. Here are all the procedures: https://www.philasd.org/schoolboard/wp-content/uploads/sites/892/2021/08/005-Admin-Procedures-Aug-2021.pdf

PHILADELPHIA BOARD OF HEALTH MEETINGS: (times and dates vary) https://www.phila.gov/departments/board-of-health  (Sometimes they allow public comments during the meetings and sometimes they don’t. LEGISLATION - Rallies, protests, petitions, and emails have their place, but you also need to personally call and meet with your representatives.  They are not mind readers.

ABOUT LOBBYING (local, state, and federal)It is very important to repeatedly (maybe monthly) call and visit your political representatives' office, not just email them, until your goals are reached. These visits and communications are important opportunities to keep your reps  updated on the latest news and studies. You should also go to any events where you could meet them, such as "townhall" meetings, fund-raisers, and campaign events.  When lobbying your representative, always be polite, sincere, brief, and focused. Have your "elevator pitch" ready. You are selling a "product" (legislation or a viewpoint), so please don't argue with your "customer".  When visiting their offices, you may also want to bring a supporter or two along. Just remember to keep your visits positive. You may not win your reps over immediately, but you stand a better chance of eventually winning them over.  Here is a sample "elevator pitch" if you are dropping in without an appointment and addressing a staff member. Also have a one-page handout to leave behind with your group's contact info, basic information, and/or the bill's language: "Hi, we're here on behalf of (your group). We support (Senate or House bill number) which is about (issue - Medical Freedom). We are looking for (co-sponsors or support) for the bill. It already has (number) co-sponsors, but we would like many more to ensure its passage. We would really appreciate the representative's support. Thank you."
